THINGS I did....I wasn't supposed to do....as an active JW
by Terry inon freeminds.org, randy w wrote this about himself:.
even as a strict jehovahs witness for eight years, i never once shunned or failed to speak to a disfellowshipped person.
it is simply cruel.

My story pt 1 "The begginning of the end"
by acolytes inmy dislike of "mickey mouse" elders peaked in angry disgust when a inspection of my personal closet detached one of the sleeves of my shirt unbuttoned.
i was then repremanded and threatend with expulsion from the privalige of working the microphone.i grudgingly accepted the necessity of buttoning my shirtsleeve as i belived in our just cause of helping bring about universal soveringty.. however as a result of the above event gradually and barely noticed by myself iam moving into the worldly life.
gradually the contours of the future are appearing.

if you're not qualified to carry a microphone, most of the ''friends'' have no you use for you.

Jehovah's Witnesses simply go 'against the grain' in so many areas
by jambon1 inhaving grown up in 'the word' in a very loving and normal family, certain aspects of the truth never really sat right with me.
as an impressionable 17 year old, the things i was learning during my study seemed bizarre & in many ways, just not right.
but i swallowed it all eventually.

- The overwhelming 'air' of negativity within JW congregations
so many people on meds. none of my worldly friends or colleagues are on anti depressants, - any ex witness ones are, and so many witnesses still in I have lost count.
you know, with a lifestyle that's so far from ordinary & out of whack from general society, it is clearly no wonder at all why the average Witness goes looney tunes.

How Can an Elder Fade Successfully?
by tjlibre inim working on my exit strategy out of the watchtower org.
ive set my mind to be out by the end of 2010 or mid 2011. .
id like to avoid getting df and disassociating my self is also an undesirable option.

yes, the control from the society/congregation is oppressive & stifling. but, after hearing the testimony of Cal Lehman on podcast, it can give one clues on how to do a successful fade. as mentioned earlier, each one's situation is unique & different in some way. the key ingredient is to keep an extremely low profile, & do as little as possible with the congregation.
my goal someday, i don't know what year it will be, but i intend to celebrate Xmas to the full extent.

"not a good example"
by LoriJis ini have a concern i guess or just want to vent.
my husband and i - as most of you know - we're married just a little under 2 months and you all know at that point i was still "active" in the org.
we had a few issues with our bridal party - namely the groom - cuz according to them he wasnt a good example and not in good status because they hadn't seen him at the meetings or in service for like 2 months.

to be quite honest, in the Witness mindset, plain & simple, if you're a brother & not qualified to carry a microphone, you're a bad example.
